Every time I play this course, I gain a new appreciation for its nuances and history. The greens are small, the bunkers are large and you have to be able to create shots. It might be why I like good parkland golf so much, and Colonial, which sits by the Trinity River, is a fine example of that. Like Bum used to say about Earl Campbell, Colonial might not be in a class by itself, but it doesn't take long to call roll. This is undoubtedly one of my favorite courses in Texas, especially after it was renovated a few years ago with new turf. Best waiter (Paul) here. He is super attentive, always on top of things, and never misses a beat. Breakfast is good, not out of the ordinary, and totally inexpensive (suprisingly!)
