The saying that the customer is always right was most likely created by a customer. Just as some customers use the old adage the squeaky wheel gets the oil'. The louder and more the customer complains, the more likely that the manager will oil their wheels, just so they will be quiet and go away. The more of a scene the customer creates, the more likely that the customer will get their way...
