My financee and I were in Chicago last week and he was in the mood for some sushi, we wandered around a bit and came across Cocoro Japanese. It was the most authentic japanese restaurant i have ever eaten at (I even felt bad when they had to bring our silverware-and i never feel bad!!) The service was absolutely amazing, the food was wonderful, and the ambiance of it all was great.
Cocoro is my favorite sushi restaurant in Chicago!! I used to live in Japan, and so can be really picky. Good prices, friendly service, and authentic food. A hidden gem.

I have become a regular here and have sampled most of the dishes on the Cocoro menu. All have been consistently excellent. But I suggest that you ask what is NOT on the menu. I have discovered there are a number of dishes that never got onto their menu, like the Japanese steak, the most delicious steak meal I have had anywhere.
