I arrived at Oakland quite late so just chose a hotel with walking distance to train station and Bart station.
The hotel was ok in general, staff was nice and responsible, only a bit noisy as it's just next to freeway.

The front desk was anything but helpful. The neighborhood was extremely suspect. The room was recently renovated but the AC/heater barely worked.

Okay room for the price you pay. There was a flea market across the street the next morning which was a nice surprise.
