Sounds like sour grapes to me

zackbiaz sounds like someone every apartment complex hates. Look, if you want to live at a complex that's completely out of control and no rules are followed then City Villas is not the place for you. I know directly what a great complex it is. One thing I've learned in life is that complainers always complain and haters always hate.

Telling the true situation:

I believe I should be able to clarify some complaints of management reviewed here. The original tenant moved into a remodeled unit with new carpet, new appliances and new paint was in the habit of allowing anyone to occupy unit (sometimes 5-6 additional persons) in breach of his contract (complaintant being one of those in Jan, 2010). Complaintant did not qualify for a unit so signed on lease with previous tenant accepting unit as is when previous tenant moved out a month later. complaintant then started demanding things he was not eligle for...like repainting unit, replacing carpet that was only 1 yr old. I did have carpet cleaned for him and offered him the paint which was not good enough for him. When he moved out he left unit in grungy, filthy condition and the carpet spotted and with burn holes. Deposited did not cover damages.

Another complaintant reviews states that he had to live in hotel for a week. True there was a water problem that had to be corrected (5 days). Complex paid for a downtown hotel with valet service and gave him a free months rent for his inconvenience.. After correction was made we also cleaned his carpet and furnishings at our expense. Our thanks for giving above and beyond was on his vacating he left a very dirty unit with burn holes in carpet. When he had moved in unit had new carpet & new appliances. Deposit did not cover damages.

When a new resident moves in they are given a move in sheet to list all items they find a problem with. If we are able to correct problem it is corrected in a timely manner. And yes, we do respect our resident's right to live in a comfortable environment. If you are constantly distrubting that environment you will be called on it.

Resident are able to call 24/7 on call Security to handle any discomforting problems they may have. Management is on call 24/7 for any maintenance or emergencies that may occur. Our residents are important to us. Thank you for taking the time to listen to City Villas side of these unfounded complaints registered here.

The most important things to know about city villas

hello everybody!!! im a current resident of city villas. here are couple things you need to know about city villas BEFORE you move in. THE MANAGER RONNA is the worst manager i ever encountered since i have been living in san diego. i rented a 2 bedroom unit with a 6month lease. that was the biggest mistake in my life.here is what i got: a dirty filthy place. the unit was so dirty, kitchen, walls and specially the carpet. the manager promessed me a new carpet and a paint job before i signed the lease. well let me tell you what!!!! my 6month lease is over and nothing was done to my place. i currently lived here for 9months and im still living in this dirty unit. at each time i ask the manager RONNA to clean up my carpet and refresh my walls its like asking for charity, god forbid you ask her for something because the answer is NO IF YOU DONT LIKE IT THEM MOVE OUT. .and if you keep insisting on what is your rights as a tenant she THRETENS YOU WITH A 30 DAYS NOTICE.i have letters from 2 of my ex neigboors
stating that they had to leave because of the manager s(RONNA) constant harassment. i also have 3 letters from current neighbours stating that they are being harassed daily by THE MANAGER(RONNA).myself i get harassed daily by her. my unit is right next to hers she says that my bedroom windows HAS TO BE CLOSED AT ALL TIME because im LOUD ON MY COMPUTER.paying my rent and being asked to keep my windows shut at all times makes me feel like im in prison.the truth is she s the one that makes the most noise in this building. with her dog barking all the time next to my bed with a little ding ding chaine around its neck.every day she s the one that wakes me up at 7h00AM DAILY by slamming her 2doors so hard that it shakes the walls, and when somebody comes to see her at 7h00AM they re talking LOUD right next to my bedroom, all this for her not to do her job as a PROFESSIONAL MANAGER and invites visitors INSIDE of her office, no she has to do all the talking in her door step which again is right next to where i sleep. she will give you a 30days notice with absolutely no motive. when i asked for the company s phone number or adress so i can adress these issues to the owner of the complex or to the company SRP ANNEX LLC to whom i write the check every end of the month, she refuses to give me the info, why? because she knows that i have proof of every word i wrote in this review.ohhh did i mentione that i was CURSED OUT BY THIS MANAGER? I WAS CALLED IDIOT AND IMBECILE AND ALOT OF F... WORDS BY THIS MANAGER? yes ser i was and i have that on a recording. THE OWNER!!! THE MANAGER OF SRP ANNEX LLC WHERE ARE YOU? HOW COULD YOU BE REACHED? HERE IS MY PHONE NUMBER 856 813 7032 . WE NEED TO SPEAK TO YOU. WHERE ARE YOU? AND WHO ARE U. MY FRIENDS THAT LIVED HERE AND GOT HARASSED DAILY BY YOUR MANAGER, MY FRIENDS THAT STILL LIVE HERE AND I ARE GONNA SUE YOUR COMPANY AND YOUR MANAGER FOR HER CONSTANT HARASSMENT AND HER REFUSAL TO OBEY TO THE RENTAL AGREEMENTS. PLEASE GET BACK TO US. WE ARE 7 PEOPLE WRITING THIS REVIEW. WE ARE SICK AND TIRED OF ASKING FOR SIMPLE THINGS LIKE PLEASE CLEAN MY CARPET , I GOT SICK FROM IT BREADING ALL THAT BAD NASTY AIR BECAUSE MY CARPET STINGS AND THATS HOW THE UNIT WAS GIVING TO ME, AND WE ARE SICK OF LIVING IN FEAR OF IF WE ASK FOR SOMETHING THAT SMALL WHAT WE GET IS A 30 DAYS NOTICE TO LEAVE INSTEAD.

good.... but

If you are thinking of renting at city villa apartments, here's the deal. basically, it's ok. I mean, the place is secured, and the water is part of the rent. Also, the fact that it's so near the heart of downtown (gaslamp quarters) makes you think you have a jewel of a place.

But if you lived in it, you'll notice that much of the "beauty" is really just facade. You will notice the perennial problem of small leaks in the faucets, and that when you moved in, the cleaners didn't clean the floor where the oven and the refrigerator are (believe me, when I moved the oven, it was so dirty, and I mean food that's long been under). But if you're not really so nit-picky about those stuff, then i guess the little things wouldn't matter.

HOWEVER, if you are going to rent any unit, be sure to get a unit that ISN'T WITHIN THE HEARING OF THE MANAGER. For the most part, she makes sure that the house rules are followed. HOWEVER, THAT'S IF SHE'S AWARE OF IT. Meaning, you can get away with most noise or any other things you do in the privacy of your own unit (which you are paying for, by the way), but if you are within ear shot, then you better close your windows, or just be mute. And better be sure you DON'T LIVE ON THE FLOOR RIGHT ABOVE HERS. if you do, you might as well just float on air.

The manager of city villas, although she keeps the place quiet, is very intolerant of tenants whom she thinks "impinges on HER rights, comforts and conveniences". You will notice that other tenants can do almost anything they want in their units, but if you live in a unit that i close to hers, then she is going to bug you. and SHE ISN'T NICE AT ALL.

And the price is quite high, actually. Parking is not part of the package. and, you really have to be walking on eggshells for the manager not to bother you. Now, would really want to pay for an apartment where you have to be walking on tight ropes?

I'm glad I'm not living there anymore.

Are you kidding me Marvin ??? I lived in City Villas from 1996-2009 and found it a great place to live. It is a short walk to Gaslamp and public transportation is readily available. As for Ronna she is about as good as an apartment manager can get. I hate to say it but I cannot agree with you. I've read your other …
