I made the biggest mistake in choosing this company. The price was on the high side, but I thought since they were in business for so long they must be good right? WRONG. The night after the install the unit stopped working. The service tech that came out didn't know up from down, and had to call in the srv. mgr. He spent 3/4 of the time on the phone with other inexperienced techs. When it was finally fixed I was told this visit would be no charge...I hope so. I got a follow up call from the owner who sounded as if he was drunk, making me all kinds of promises and then proceeded to tell me his tech noticed I needed a new hot water heater soon. He tried to scare me into a new one with saying my basement would flood and ruin my new heater. My hot water heater is only 6 years old and is fine according to HORIZON that came out to check it. What a bunch of bull! I won't even bring Chud back to service the unit. Money Grubbers is how I would sum up CHUD.

Use ANYONE else but this place. Owner himself is a pushy, rude, arrogant man, who comes into your home under false pretenses and then picks apart your system. He won't take NO for an answer and makes you feel terrible about the way you have been living and taking care of your home. Not everyone walks around with money bags for pockets Mr. Chud!
I admit I'm a difficult person to please and I have high expectations when it comes to customer service. Like many people, I've been "burned" before by awful service or sold something I didn't need when using other companies. So when my home heating unit stopped working over the weekend, I turned to a completely new source: I found Chud because of other great reviews I read. Admittedly, I was a skeptical at first.
A few hours after I spoke with the wonderful Chud office staff, a technician showed up in the pouring rain. He had a smile on his face and was ready to fix my heater. He was nice, and on time. What I liked the most was there were no hidden charges, no attempts to sell me anything else. The technician fixed my heater and explained the malfunctioning part problem to me in simple terms. After the busted part was replaced the heating unit worked like new again.
Today, I am excited to have a working heater and pleased to know I can turn to a trustworthy company. I strongly urge you to use Chud. I am VERY pleased.
I read the reviews listed below and I really feel that there are two sides to every story, so before I had anyone come out to our home for an estimate I called CHUD and asked about the charges for a repair. I found them to be COMPLETELY honest and upfront about the service call charge and labor. I also found it refreshing that CHUD would give back part of the charges if a new unit was needed. (I also called 3 other companies and asked their charges and found that a service call charge & labor charge are standard in the industry.) I then set an appointment for the salesperson to come out. He arrived on time, well prepaired with literature and even gave us an opportunity to look through a presentation on his ipad while he took measurements. He spent time answering all of our questions and even discouraged us from spending too much money on something we didn't need. He gave us a verbal "ballpark" price and said he would get us a written proposal with 24 hours. When I woke in the morning a proposal was in my email. I scheduled the installation for a few days later. The crew that came in was very conscious of my home and made sure everything was protected. They introduced themselves, explained what would be happening and went right to work. At the end of the day they cleaned up and gave me a full demonstration on all the functions of the equipment and asked if I had any questions. They left me the paperwork and left without a trace of ever being there. The best part was the the salesperson actually returned while the job was in progress to make sure that I was getting the best job possible. I received a Thank You card a few days later...that never happens! I would proudly recommend CHUD to anyone who asks my opinion.
