It addresses major points about God, good and evil, life and death, sacrament, salvation, and more. Christian Science encourages people to see things from a spiritual perspective, as Jesus taught. Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also...” (John 14:12). Mary Baker Eddy said, “these mighty works are not supernatural, but supremely natural...” (Science and Health, p.xi:14). I was engaged to marry a wonderful, Godly woman. Kimmie was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast, bone, lung, liver and brain cancer. A very liberal Hospice Chaplin at Hospice Austin, Peggy Stoll, led Kimmie to the Christian Science cult for healing. Sunny Scott-Luther (female) told Kim she would be healed. We are only healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ and the blood that was shed for us.
Kimmie tragically died two months later. Kimmie was led down the wide road that leads to destruction. We pray God had mercy on her for being led down the wrong path. Kim’s brother Wayne arranged for a Catholic Priest to perform Last Rites before she expired. Kim despised the Catholic Church and her Catholic upbringing.
A cult is anything PLUS Jesus or anything PLUS the Bible. The Christian Science and Mormons add to and subtract from Jesus and the Bible.
All of the cults are based on “works.” We cannot do enough to gain entrance to Heaven. Jesus gave it all. How much is enough? Jesus is the litmus test.
