The most beautiful Colonial building north of Market Street has to be Christ Church (1727-54). Its gleaming white spire can be seen from anywhere in the neighborhood, now that a grassy park and a subway stop have replaced the buildings to the south. The churchyard has benches, tucked under trees or beside brick walls.

Christ Church was founded in 1695 as an extension of the Church of England. The church building opened in 1727 as a small brick structure. The structure here today was built in 1744. Visited today with a friend and cannot resist the urge to recognize one of your employees, Neil, for sharing with us his hospitality and intelligence.
