This park features outdoor swimming facilities, a gym, baseball fields, and tennis courts. During the summer, it hosts a number of day camp programs; throughout the year, a number of programs are offered, including swimming lessons and an after-school program.

Though at 10 acres not nearly as large as nearby Humboldt Park, Smith Park is brimming with activities. Aside from the outdoor pool, playground equipment, two baseball fields, combination football/soccer field, two tennis courts, and a spray pool. Smith Park has many organized sports and crafts activities. There are two fieldhouses, one with a gym and kitchen.
