Like no other place
I had my 40th birthday in one of the penthouse suites. The whole place is fabulous from the Craig Ellwood designed bungalows (John Belushi died in #3) to the wee cottage rooms by the pool. The restaurant is small but very good. The lobby is the embodiment of old time Hollywood glamour.

Hotels are the stuff of stories, of mini dramas, a world unto themselves-we leave our lives behind and become who we want to be. Arriving at Chateau Marmont you surrender yourself to a grandiloquent environment, an infamous hideaway and the perfect getaway in the center of one of the world's most exciting cities.
While in residence you become part of a highly discriminating, international...

Business Description from the Web
Jean Harlow carried on an affair with Clark Gable while honeymooning here with her husband, Harold Rosson—that's just one of many rendezvous the Chateau has supposedly played host to. Built in the late '20s in the style of a Loire Valley mansion, it was falling into disrepair by the time John Belushi overdosed and died there in 1982. In the early '90s, though, haute hotelier André Balazs took...

This hotel has been an icon of privacy and seclusion since the 1930s for the likes of Greta Garbo, Sam Shepard, Johnny Depp and Keanu Reeves. The French castle-like hotel was restored in 1998 to its original eclectic, but tasteful, beginnings. With suites and bungalows offered, you may choose your level of preferred privacy. The Bar Marmont is one of the hottest bars on the Sunset strip....

In Short No other hotel has played a more central role in Hollywood mythology. "If you must get in trouble, do it at the Chateau Marmont," said original Columbia Pictures head Harry Cohn. (The infamous quote was directed at William Holden and Glenn Ford in 1939.) A sampling from the scores of legendary scandals: Jean Harlow and Clark Gable trysted here, Jim Morrison, high as a kite,...

The secret can run, but only for so long in those heels. Balaz and Vong disciple Mohammed Islam (not touching that) serve up a clandestine country-style setting in the 1929 hillside mansion of much ballyhooed debauchery. Rockstar vibe still rampant among chef's creations, shrimp tempura, light chestnut-ricotta ravioli, and seasonal adaptations. Even the best bites are high-class bar food,...

Legendary warning: If you must get into trouble, do it at the Chateau Marmont. Site of John Belushi's last toga party, Jim Morrison's fall off the roof, and Led Zeppelin's flying TV sets. Beautiful, strange, matchless castle on the hill pulls stars for private bungalow overnights and rock n' roll debauchery. Lovely garden perfect for intimate interviews, while shaded pool is one of the most...

It was a beautiful evening so we decided to eat in at the Chatueau Marmont's garden restaurant; however, when we got there they sat us in an inside room by ourselves ...insisting there was no room in the garden. But as we sat there we saw them seating lots of folks. And yes, I know they hold tables for folks staying at the hotel but the folks we saw were not. Anyway, what was really...

This review is not for the hotel, but for the restaurant within the Chateau Marmont. We were a party of 5 seated promptly. The atmospehere in the Chateau Marmont is whimsical and sophistcated which I hoped would bring a great experience, but at the end of the meal I was greatly dissapointed. Everything took forever, our reservations were at 7:30Pm and we didn't leave until 11:00PM. I had...
