Chas and Alice Roberts founded Chas Roberts Air Conditioning in 1942. Prior to founding the business, Roberts worked as a serviceman for a local utility. In the early years, sales consisted of home appliances, coolers, furnaces, air conditioners and service. In the 1950s and 1960s, the company grew doing retrofits of houses with coolers to air conditioning, custom and tract houses and light...

Phoenix winters may not bring snow, but the nights still get pretty cold so dependable heating is also important.Chas Roberts Air Conditioning and Heating isn't just the name on the door. The company was founded by Chas and Alice Roberts in 1942 and has been family owned and operated since day one.Our...

Service contracts are good for them but not their customers.
Don't feel taken advantage of at all price wise - happy with repair - other company didn't fix a month ago and charged me more - new customer for life!
I have had to call them out to my house again for an issue they have not fixed. I have owned my home for almost 2yrs and have had to have CR come out to fix it and fill with freon(r-22) about 6times now. They cannot find the leak and keep replacing the inner cooler up in the air handler. The freon detector can't find the specific area its leaking at. they have repalced the inner cooler 3 times. It failed in january and now again in may :( I call that some c@!%!y equipment or something where they can't install it right. I just don't know what to do to get thier attention about the issues they are causing with higher electric bills and lack of A/C.
We were only in our NEW home for TWO weeks when one of our air conditioning units went out. We called CHAS since they installed the AC (and hence still under warranty). They COULDN'T come out until the next day so we all had to camp out downstairs since our upstairs (where all our bedrooms are) got to 86 degrees in the night. Technician comes the next day, but since it was late in the day he said the office won't be able to download his part order until the next morning (which meant another night camping with an infant). We were told ours was not an emergency situation because we had two other ACs in the house (which unfortunately did not cool our bedrooms off). I called the office only to be given the run-around as to why they can't possibly pick up a part from a supplier in town the same day. My husband's family owns an AC business and told us that they could come have it fixed in a couple of hours, but since ours was under warranty with CHAS, we decided to stick it with them. Long story short, two nights of 86 degree temps with a baby in the house, a non-responsive customer service office, and a phone call to our builder's warranty office telling them if CHAS didn't get it fixed the next a.m., we will be calling another company and be backcharging CHAS -- they finally came and fixed the fan motor that took 30 minutes tops. What should have taken 2 hours took them 3 days and very disappointed customers. I would NEVER use them!
The worst, dishonest, most expensive AC company? Look no further. Chas Roberts.
My AC was low on freon and struggling. Transparent fees? Not Chas. Nothing on the website. Reps don't know what to say if ask them about 1 pound of refrigerant. You have to talk to "manager" himself - Rob Johnson.
Here is it, buckle up: $200 for the first pound and $100 for each additional. It can easily set you...

The A/C is fine because they didn't make it. When something goes wrong, you discover that Chas Roberts is unable to appropriately service what they sell. As I write it's over 48 hours in Arizona heat without repair, on an expensive unit under two years old with full warranty. The company has been told repeatedly that there is an 80-year old woman and five dogs in the...
