Business Description from the Web

The days of the crooner are over. Michael Buble aside, no one sings like Sinatra anymore, or knows how to make a fedora look cool. Thats what makes Charlie Browns so wonderful. This charming piano bar is a throwback to the old days of smoky bars and palpable heartbreak, especially when Paul Lopez commands the ivories on Tuesday nights. The menu covers a staggering amount of territory, with... more

One of Denver's best old bars, with a piano player to match. This 75-year-old dive may be the only place in town where you can order a double Bloody Mary with a side of eggs at 9 a.m. on a temp-controlled patio. The young, the old, the hip and the downtrodden all gather here at all hours of the day.

This "Cheers"-like piano bar feels like your neighborhood joint.

In Short Salt-of-the-earth folks come here, courtesy of the neighborhood ambience. From the outside, the bar is known by it's deco neon sign, but the bar's most notable fixture inside is Paulie, an elderly, nearly blind pianist who sings or accompanies performers. The extensive menu ranges from burritos to lobster tails, and the bar rings up each sale on a '50s-era cash register. On... more

Just south of downtown, Charlie Brown's is a piano bar, some version of which has been in existence since 1927. The atmosphere is casual, with a baby grand piano and a diverse crowd. The grill serves three meals a day, inside and outside on a great patio.

I HATE THIS PLACE

I lived near Charlie Brown's for over two years, and I have to say it is the most overrated bar in Denver. The food is terrible; greasy, no flavor, and over salted. Most of the people who frequent this bar are loud-obnoxious suburbanites, who woke up one day and realized that they were on the downside of middle-aged and decided it was time to relive their early twenties. They will drink... more

Good for both lunch and happy hour

I have been to Charlie Brown's both for lunch and happy hour with co-workers. The food is good, although service can be slow at lunch. Never had an attitude problem with the staff. Happy hour is two-fers for your first round and there is almost always free food. We just went last Friday for happy hour and they were roasting a pig on the patio (it was delicious and free!) and the place was... more

Place is a throwback piano bar, grill, neighborhood haunt in an old classic of what used to be a sort of beat hotel. The food is decent and pretty basic bar and grill style stuff. Seems a bit like an old smokey lounge in Chicago or New York.
