Moroccan food updated
This place serves Morroccan food that combines tradition and innovation. They have a duck bistillah that makes a large appetizer. The tagines are tasty. The menu changes seasonally and features organic ingredients. They also have a decent wine selection. The interior design is like Wallpaper magazine goes to the Casbah.
Business Description from the Web
Marrakesh meets MOCA at this sleek French-Moroccan treasure. The design of the place is a breath of fresh harissa in a neighborhood not exactly known for novelty; the entryway is blue-lit and the small dining room's walls are decorated with colorful, futuristic-mod patterns. The crowd is refreshingly diverse (young, old, hip, not), and the room pulses with the hum of happy feasters. Many start...

An oasis of Moroccan cool: Chameau is a quirky, shoebox of a place on Fairfax where a North African chef has a way with bestila.
Chameau didn't exactly get off to the best start. A tiny B.Y.O.B. restaurant open only on weekends, not much notice was taken of it initially, but today this French-Moroccan restaurant is one of the most popular hangouts in West Hollywood. Duck Bastilla, grilled lamb chops, Blackened Halibut, and Baby Onion Couscous are some of the dishes that feature on the seasonal menu. At dessert, the...

Tips About This Business
The former location was strictly BYOB, but the restaurant now serves beer and wine.
Fairfax and surrounding side streets are lined with parking meters, but it can be tough to find a space. On weekend nights, the restaurant offers valet service.
The menu changes seasonally. Check their website for information.
Editorial Reviews from the web
Tucked among the bakeries and shops of Fairfax, the copper facade of this windowless eatery might not look like much from the outside, but inside it's a colorful (although suprisingly tiny) space with an geometrically designed dining room and blue-hued retro coffee shop-style bar. Mediterranean-leaning starters include chilled watermelon-cucumber salad, olive and eggplant tapanades while ntrees...

Hard to spot from the street but perpetually Mo'rockin' the Kasbah. Young, able bodies in all styles of Beckham's coifs enter for loud hues and seasonal menu six nights a week. While waiting, the eggplant tapanades and argan oil keep you afloat. Olive-encrusted halibut, lamb bacchanals, and black pepper cream cookies keep us coming. Chilled watermelon cucumber soup makes us writhe in pleasure,...

We want them back in Silverlake! This is an excellent restaurant. Fine food, gorgeous decor. We have been going there for years fearful that the quality would eventually drop, but it has not. Au contraire.
Pros
+ Great Food
Cons
- Odd neighborhood

First, I'd like to talk about some of these awful reviews that are completely ridiculous. Not original? Excuse me, if this restaurant is not original then I don't know what is. Now the guy who felt insignificant in Chameau. Well hate to break it to you, but you are.
Now for MY review. The chef is amazing in the kitchen. The lamb, couscous, diverse wines, preserved lemon dip, should I go on?...

Kelly Klemovich is the older lady who does all the catering for movie sets and things like that for Chameau. The food is alright, however once it gets to location it is usually not very hot anymore. My biggest complaint about this is how inappropriate Kelly is with the clients. She is very ditsy, always late(which probably explains the cold food), and she kisses all the guys and jumps on...
