Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels is the mother church of the archdiocese of Los Angeles. Built originally in the 1800s, it was rebuilt to the tune of USD180 million after the Northridge earthquake in 1994. This seven-level structure accommodates up to 3000 worshipers. The lower level Crypt Mausoleum is also worth a glance, and is the resting place of bishops and cardinals.

In Short This massive 3,000-seat Catholic cathedral serves as a bold focal point for Bunker Hill and the Hollywood Freeway. While the sandy concrete exterior is austere and administrative, the interior and courtyards offer many elaborate details. Must-sees include the 80-foot tall, 45-ton cherrywood pipe organ; massive hydraulic doors decorated with Christian images and designs... more

Food is not worth the price

I went for tea with my daughter and it was totally overpriced. The food was very mediocre although the service was good until the end when I couldn't get the check. When I did get it, they tried to add a 20% gratuity to the check for two people and call it tax. This is just offensive. The idea of a mandatory gratuity on something like tea is really a joke and they tried to say the person who... more

This hotel is a great location close to shopping, cafes, bars, nightlife, theatrical theaters (yet we didn't have tickets to a show so will go next time in town). Union Square and the cable car to the wharf is one block behind the hotel with many bars, cafes and restaurants are nearby, yet if you want the best restaurants to dine, reserve a time in advance as the concierge will assist you. Not a good place to have a wedding

I've attended 2 weddings at this overrated building. Granted, it's decent looking but the architecture and overall look of the building did not make me feel any sense of awe or reverence. My mom put it best when she said that the place looks more like a museum than a cathedral. The place looks very bland with all muted shades of brown and tan. With all the money spent on this place and all... more
