Golden Nugget is a good choice if you must stay downtown. The guest rooms are nearly on par with some strip hotels.The food is good without being exceptional.The staff are quite friendly, and the casino is easy to navigate.On the negative side, the pool is very attractive but is a complete mob scene.Also, the registration desk is awkwardly located, and check-in lines build quickly.Finally, this...

It's kind of convenient to have a place to eat right in your hotel if you're staying at the Golden Nugget. The menu has enough choices, though the service is a bit on the slow side. It's not terrible though.
This cafe is located in the Golden Nugget, and looks pretty tasty; however, once you sit down the service is poor and the food wasn't too tasty. I would recommend the buffet instead of this place.
