I was diagnosed with a terminal disease (COPD). I contacted Capitol One customer service to make sure that I was indeed covered on my credit card. I was advised that I was, however, since I had been past due 30 days in the past 90 days, I was not elgible for the coverage until I had payed on the account for another year.
