Business Description from the Web

A Dixieland band plays live nightly and sets a festive and fun, yet casual atmosphere throughout the two-story home built in the early 1900s. Decor is New Orleans all the way with Mardi Gras beads, Jazz Fest posters, and murals with silhouettes of dancers, musicians, and waiters.

A slice of New Orleans has come all the way to North Carolina. But hey, so what if you don't have the Mardi Gras, you will be treated to live jazz every night of the week! The B.B.Q. Shrimp, Cajun Popcorn, Red Beans and Rice, Crawfish Scampi, all will make your tummy happy. By the way, it has been voted as the best Cajun restaurant in Charlotte.

The Seventh Street Gator Band, a bunch of old-timers who pipe out Dixieland jazz seven nights a week, plays upstairs. The band is good but deafening. Don't sit up there with a first date.

In Short Like other restaurants in the Stanleyville section of the Elizabeth neighborhood, this one is located in an old house. Barbecued shrimp and spicy fried oysters that come with a tangy dipping sauce may well be the best two appetizers in town. Diners can order their choice of crawfish, chicken or shrimp served three different ways: etouffee, Diane or Creole. Each varies in... more

Bring on the Hurricanes! This longtime Cajun eatery, housed in a two-story early-1900s home, will take your taste buds to the Vieux Carré while you listen to the Dixieland jazz band that plays nightly. If the food and the music don't get you in a festive mood, then the Mardi Gras beads on the tables and the walls painted purple and yellow will. Chef Billy Wesling's outstanding jambalaya,... more

Had a great experience my fist time at the Queen of Cajun. I had the Bayou Platter and my girlfriend had the Etouffee. Both were excellent but I especially liked the blackened seasoning on the chicken and catfish mine came with. From what I heard the Etouffee is one of the most popular on the menu so you can't go wrong with either one.

Overall, I will def return and recommend.

The band is great but can be overpowering if you are right in front of them. I have had numerous items on the menu and have never had one dish that did not exceed my expectations. The BBQ Shrimp app is a MUST. I dont even care if they put the shrimp in, the sauce and bread are the best. you will get a different atmosphere and food quality is as good if not better that locations like del... more
