Went in for a sandwich and after the first bite, a large roach betweeen the bread."Manager" said that she would refund me, which she did and told me to not return because I had shown what I found to another customer. Told me she was an attorney and would sue me!

Maybe I have an opinion about what coffee shops should be, since I do a lot of my work at coffee shops, but Cafe Mondo is definitely not what I would call a great neighborhood shop. I live in Highlands and have visited this coffee spot several, several times ever since it opened. It's a very hip spot (atmosphere), and I disagree w/ the previous reviewer -- they do want you to stay to chat! I live in the Highlands, and so it is in my interest to have a great neighborhood coffee stop. I've tried Cafe Mondo several times, and I have to say I give up on their concept, whatever it may be.
