Cafe De Paris
Excellent and charming French-Country style cuisine restaurant located conviently in the business park section of Columbia. They offer off site catering and wine tastings.
Without a doubt in my mind, Cafe de Paris is the best place to have dinner in the Columbia Area.
Mister Rochard who is fluent in French, Swedish and English is always welcoming, ready to give suggestions and the food he serves is always delicious.
With the addition of cooking classes, this place is different from the chain restaurant atmosphere in Columbia.
I give it 5 stars, especially because it is relatively inexpensive for the quality of food served.

My wife and I have dined at Cafe de Paris numerous times, and have had a wonderful meal each and every time. We have only been here for brunch on the weekends, however, the servers are always attentive, the food very flavorful and in generous portions, the coffee some of the best in Columbia, and the atmosphere, like a cafe...
I do not live in the neighborhood and never heard of the place. An out of town old college room mate is visiting and staying in the area, so I was trying to find a place to have brunch. He stayed in Laurel, and there is only chain eatery in there. A friend suggested I try the next town in...
Recently attended a large group dinner of around thirty people. We were asked to order in advance, and each person was served with their choice - salmon, lamb sandwich, steak frites, and several other choices. Service was prompt and food was delicious. I travel frequently to France and the ambience is authentic, the food a bit of a compromise between...
The food is fresh, the portions generous, and the wait staff are very attentive. I am not a cook but I do know what I like. I like the way the cook seasons the food at this cafe. There is a range of menu items for all budgets.
As some of you know, I usually point out how important it is, that a quality restaurant or hotel begins with the people involved. In this case it is important for me to indicate such, as well as pointing out that my experiences here over the last few years has been both Business dinners and family gatherings for big events....

Nine years after making the move to Columbia from its original Laurel home, Erik Rochard's lively French cafe has shown the impressive legs of a can-can dancer. Croque Monsieur, onion soup and escargots of course, but Rochard's approach isn't a museum curator's -- it's lighter and more accessible.

The prix fixe dinner is one of the best dining deals around. Simply choose an appetizer, main course and dessert off the regular menu.
The restaurant also has a deli that is open weekdays and features French-inflected sandwiches (brie, pate, country sausage), as well as quiches and some heartier fare.
