I enjoyed dining at Cafe de Bruxelles. It had a relaxed European atmosphere and the food was wonderful. It's true that the service is a little slow, but I think it's actually nice to dine out in New York City and not feel like you're being pressured to clear the table for the next reservation. I think if you tell your waiter that you're trying to be out of there by a certain time, they'll accommodate you.

I have visited this restaurant on several prior occasions in the evenings with relative success. I took a real liking to this place after one visit. This is a very fine, authentic Franco-Belgian restaurant that specializes in mussels and Belgian ales. The atmosphere is tasteful, with nice views onto Greenwich Avenue. I only tried the mussels, but I can report that they are as good and plentiful as any I have had (altho I enjoyed the ones at Le Monde and other French restaurants too).
