With its original incarnation as a vaudeville house in 1926, this 2,300-seater dates back to an era when no expense was spared to create glitzy, glamorous theaters. But, like many other grand theater and movie houses of the time (and for that matter, the inner-city as a whole), the Palace fell into disrepair and was vacated a shell of its former glory. Unlike many of its now-razed counterparts,... more

The Palace Theatre opened at the corner of Randolph and LaSalle Streets in Chicago on October 4, 1926. Designed by legendary theatre architects the Rapp Brothers, the theatre's interior featured a splendor previously unseen in Chicago - a breathtaking 2,300-seat vision inspired by the palaces of Fontainebleau and Versailles. A renovated Cadillac Palace Theatre reopened during the fall of 1999,... more

Indeed, the space -- originally opened in 1926 as a vaudevillian showcase -- was modeled after Versailles. Located next door to the Hotel Allegro (formerly the Bismarck Hotel), the venue is part of the development of a revived Randolph Street... more

Impressive, Exciting, Engaging, Sizzling and Sensational are words I would use to describe my visits to the Theater. The room is beautiful, the seats are comfortable and the excitement as curtain goes up is contagious. A genuine asset to the Theater Community. I look forward to many more performances. I come with a group of friends (10 in all) from Indiana and we have thoroughly enjoyed each... more

The theatre is in a good location--just west of the Loop. It's a beautiful theatre; well done on the renovation, and we saw an awesome performance of Les Mis!

The Cadallac Palace is a great theatre in Chicago to visit. The decor is just beautiful. The location is public transportation accessible. The staff is very friendly and caring. I went to see the Lion King Broadway Musical and it was phenomenal
