Buca di Beppo is the Milwaukee branch of a Minnesota based family-style Italian restaurant chain. The Van Buren St. location is decorated like an Italian-American basement rec room with a great collection of pictures on the walls (including the bathrooms) and a shrine to Frank Sinatra. Go with a large group and a chunk of change. You will have fun.

Boisterous, sprawling dining rooms are modeled after supper clubs of the '40s and '50s--servers holler, kitchen doors swing, and Sinatra rules the stereo. The high ratings this place is getting is mind boggling. Price is decent, portions are large, place has a nice old school Italian feel, but that's where it stops. The food is terrible, very poor taste, and service leaves a lot to be desired.

Skip this place.

Pros

+ Fairly cheap, big portions

since the take over the change in chopped salad and dressing is very disappointing.we would come from Waukesha for our treat a chopped salad and a spaghetti and garlic bread. the change in all these products is not what we call , in the interest of the customer. the garlic bread is a total disaster compared to what it use to be.is this what happens when a big corp. takes over and the concern... more
