Business Description from the Web

Roughly translated from Italian, the name means Johnnie's Basement. Immigrant Italian food, the likes of which you'll find in New York, is the thrust of the menu. All dishes are served family-style, which means you need to bring friends here. The walls are plastered with photos of Italian stars and plastic replicas of saints. The goal at Buca di Beppo is simple: It's all about fun. -- Angela... more

From the Italian language tapes in the bathroom to the three-liter bottles of Chianti on every table, the vibe here is exaggerated Italian-American kitsch. Boisterous, sprawling dining rooms are modeled after supper clubs of the '40s and '50s--servers holler, kitchen doors swing, and Sinatra rules the stereo. High-carb, red-sauced southern Italian cooking dominates the menu. And everything is... more

Yes, it's a chain, and yes, it's really loud and the food is rather bland. That said, if you have picky childish palates to please and want to go somewhere where every time your kid sneezes, other diners don't turn their heads, this is the place. (We doubt other diners would be able to hear a fire engine in the middle of the dining room.) Food is served family style (no kids' menu), and in... more

Grab your appetite and head to this restaurant, where the friendly wait staff will serve up portions of Colosseum-esque proportions, like spaghetti and meatballs loaded with savory tomato sauce and lots of pungent garlic. Dishes center on Southern Italian immigrant fare, and are meant to be shared family-style with a large goblet of... more

The setting of the whole restaurant is to kill for. It fully embodies the Italian culture with red wallpaper lined with old photographs of random people as well as celebrities. Their table cloths are all checkered red and white which is cute. They have decent servings so if you bring a bigger group and split the cost it wouldn't be that bad. For me we brought about 10 people ordered 4-5 dishes... more
