After a 2005 refurbishment, this Westside folk and rock club has become the rarest of beasts: a neighborhood live venue for those unlikely to end up on Cobrasnake. Top-shelf grizzled vets like Alejandro Escovedo play to a respectful local crowd there to hear the tunes, not pound shots and make out in the photobooth. And the new interior is swanky as all getout, making for an unusually classy...

After a long hiatus, The Mint is once again a haven for live music and those who passionately support it. Not solely a jazz/blues/R&B venue any longer, the intimate space is now home to singer/songwriters, Americana rockers and indie bands as well. The stage, draped in deep evergreen and gold-fringe curtains, is visible from any seat or bar stool in the house. Vintage records still adhere to...

The Scene This veteran performance space--open since 1937--exudes a timeless, supper-club ambience with dark-wood furnishings, velvety curtains, gold chandeliers and money-green decor accents. Mesmerized patrons lounge at black-clothed tables and ritzy leather booths facing the stage. Behind a large one-way mirror, a sexy VIP alcove offers more intimate couches and plenty of privacy....

Mint, The - The Mint proudly calls itself a “supper club”. Guests expect more than a concert – they want entertainment while they sip martinis and dine on fish or lamb chops in the club’s mint-green lounge. Famed chef Matthew Gladstone excels, serving up on of the best kobe beef burgers (with a jalepeno cheese bun and Jack Daniels barbeque sauce) in Los Angeles. Yet the music -- consistently...

Live rock venue boasts two in-house studios. Taj Majal recorded his 748th album here. Reformed 1937 speakeasy, hot enough to be Capone's vault. Popular for martinis, tunes, Tuscan bites, and Sheryl Crow sightings. We hear she boasts cougar-like leanings, so look sharp young fellas. New lineups weekly, still pumping out rock, release parties, jazzy stuff, and just about anything one can think of...

Other Reviews from the web
I had read the previous reviews and was a little skeptical about going to The Mint. I shouldn't have been. The show was standing room only and because of a chronic back problem, I can't stand up for four hours straight. I thought I was going to have to pass on going, but my date called and asked them to reserve a bar stool for me, which they did. When we arrived, they had reserved an...

The staff at this little country course was very friendly, but it's the course that really surprised me. I made a point to leave a note for the greens staff. In the middle of this little country-town out from Lansing, Brookshire is as good a course as you'd find "up north" in Michigan.
The front is deceptive - short, but you want to make sure to place the ball as it's a tight 9 weaving...

I went to the mint the other night and dealt with the a very abrasive doorman who was not only rude but was hitting on my girlfriend at the same time i than tried to aproach the owner who was just as bad if not worse. I will be sure to tell me friends not to go. Food was disgusting and over the top...
