Atmosphere is upscale contemporary. This is a blend of French, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and American cuisine. The service was great. The bar has a wall of water dripping behind it that is awesome to look at. The food is very unique. We had the Rice Bowl Medley and it was fabulous. Whatever the "special red sauce" is, it's awesome – just don't ask for too much because it has a bite... more

In a classic New Orleans-style abode, this local landmark serves upper-crust Cajun-Creole cuisine. The Scene You can't top the oak-shaded patio for jazz brunch or a romantic occasion. If reserved way ahead, dinner can be served at the chef's table, a snug, glass-enclosed dining room in the middle of the kitchen. The Food Talented Executive Chef Randy Evans has... more

You can't help but think that even an authentic New Orleans courtyard couldn't be this pretty. For one thing, this one is large---an expansive brick-tiled patio dotted with wrought-iron furniture and anchored by an imposing fountain. Some indoor diners also can take advantage of its shaded beauty, without the ill effects of Houston's humidity, through floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around... more

Chef Randy Evans has the kitchen at this dreamy old Creole favorite cooking better than ever. His house-made charcuterie plate alone rate a visit, and his weekly 5-course tasting menus never fail to entice. Watch for soulful deep South touches (creamed local greens, black-eyed-pea ragout) and fabulous desserts, from shortcake and pecan pie to rustic fruit tarts. The service still dotes, the... more

I have taken dozens of employees to eat at Brennan's for their 5 year anniversary with our business. Many look forward to going to Brennan's for lunch. I was to take another employee next month and now very sad that we will have to choose another place. I hope they plan on rebuilding as I will miss greatly those special occasions for lunch. Alex, our prayers are with your family during this... more

Our love for Brennan's began in New Orleans, where we lived until Katrina blew us away. When we settled in Houston, discovering a Brennan's here was truly something that allowed us to keep going, to keep hope alive. Knowing that the family supported their workers displaced after Katrina made us feel proud to call this one of our favorite restaurants, and our family, both local and those who... more

Though I would not define myself as a renowned food critic, I try my best to dine at the finer institutions in the various cities in the US I visit. Upon seeing Brennan's Dirona award, I put it on my list to visit while in Houston this past week.

I do not think it is possible for a restaurant to be worse than this one. They charge $5 to valet your car...so they enter your valet before you... more
