Editorial reviews from the web (1)

This is just a 12-acre place with 150 animals, but the petting zoo, the Siberian tiger, and the cute-as-a-button binturongs make it a good diversion for children. Especially interesting are the cages filled with curious little monkeys, most of them tamarins that are as interested in the humans as the humans are in the monkeys. Set in Brandywine Park, a 180-acre urban oasis just off Van Buren...

Hmmm...The word "ZOO" is kind of a strech

This place is more of an animal exhibition of someone's private collection than a Zoo. If you stand in the right place you can see the entire "Zoo" from one end to the other so...yep..." The Minuscule Animal Exhibition of Brandywine" is a more appropriate name.
Despite its size the "Zoo" has two rather astonishing creatures; a tiger and a...

Nice for Gramps w/ 3 yr old But don't drive a distance to get there

Met up w/ daughter's family (the 2 of them, infant & 3 yr old). At my suggestion they had driven anhour, and we had driven a half hour, to get there. It was nice weather, so just being together and outdoors was nice, but none of us will make the effort to return. Just too small an experience for the...

This is a zoo that is over 100 years old. Admission is inexpensive. The whole family can enjoy. The exhibits are small but numerous. Exotic cats / snakes / birds / monkeys. They have an aquarium with otters. A fun experience. After the zoo you can walk along the banks of the Brandywine creek. A five minute drive gets you...

Small but wonderful

This inexpensive and small zoo is a lovely little escape from the city. The size of the facility means you can comfortably visit the entire facility in about an hour while enjoying close views of most of the resident animals. Staff seems to really care about the wildlife and your visit too.

Smaller zoo but still fun

The zoo is smaller than most but still a nice little day trip to see some great animals. Not a lot of time needed to see it all
