4 Hours for 2 heads???
Last night I went to Brajay Salon for the first time. I was a little shocked when I phoned the salon on Tuesday, May 5th and the person who answered the phone scheduled me for an appointment with Tyrone for Wednesday, May 6th at 6:00PM. Yesterday afternoon I called and spoke to the same person who scheduled the appointment and asked if my appointment could me moved up to 5:30PM. She said that would be fine. So I show up at 5:22PM last night and checked in at their front desk then sat in their waiting area. A gentleman came up to me and introduced himself and Dietrich. He then asked me who I was there to see. I told him, “Tyrone” to which he then replied, “Oh, that’s me”. Apparently, whomever I spoke with on the phone earlier didn’t clear it with him that I wanted to move my appointment to 5:30PM. Tyrone had one client who had arrived just before me, so naturally he got started on her.
Um, can I just say that I didn’t leave this salon until 10 minutes after 10:00PM>:/ Ok, Tyrone disclosed that he was slow but really – this was ri-damn-diculous. It really shouldn’t take any “veteran” stylist 4 hours to complete 2 heads. Both myself and the other lady have really short hair. We both received re-touches(relaxers). She also had a color service. I probably won’t go back to Tryone simply because walking home downtown after 10:00PM is just not an option and I just don’t believe in spending that much time at the hair salon especially when I have to be at work at 7:30AM. There was also the excessive hair spraying. I mean, I’ve lived with this hair all my life and I know that I don’t like the way hair spray makes it feel. He just kept spraying and assuring me that my hair would not be hard and crunchy. Now the top of my hair feels like paper:-(
Tyrone is a nice guy – a little rough around the edges but nice. His conversation was engaging and seemed to be genuine. My only concern is that he is way too slow for the business he’s in. My hair turned out ok but there could have been a lot less hair spray used.
