Information about this business (3)

L.A.'s first gastropub. Best Burgers. Full bar. Near Arclight, Palladium, Sunset and Vine.

Mar 4, 2011 - Daniel L. voted for Bowery as the BEST Burger ... Vote for the places you LOVE on the CityVoter Los Angeles HOTLIST and earn points, pins and amazing deals along the way. Voting ends Mar 18...

It's hard to say whether you are in NYC or LA once you enter this hot-spot on Sunset Boulevard. A typical French bistro-style ambiance, French-American cuisine, a colossal wine list and a good time are what the Bowery promises. Soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches appear on the menu, and the place is filled with locals and tourists who come here after their site-seeing sessions. The prices are...

Small but mighty

This small storefront restaurant has excellent nightly dinner specials. I've had very good tomato soup here as well as fish dishes. they also have a nice selection of wines by the glass. It's a fun place to eat of you are seeing a film at the Arclight. It can get very crowded as the night wears on.

Romantic Restaurant/Bar

The Bowery is a small restaurant with a bar. The chairs and tables are tighly packed next to each other. Primarily, this is a bar, but there is a small fantastic menu that changes frequently. If you go to the Arclight Hollywood, consider getting a drink or dinner at the Bowery. It's dark and romantic there--bad for kids.

New York-style bar and bistro in Hollywood.

This New York-style bar and gastropub/bistro from restaurateur George Abou-Daoud --- his other eateries include Delancey, The Mercantile and Rosewood Tavern --- serves up accessible fare in a laid-back setting. Dinner starters include sweet corn-and-crab fritters, mac ‘n’ cheese gratin, and a take on the French-Canadian dish poutine (fries bathed in gravy). Reasonably priced entrées include...

This friendly, neighborhood hang is centrally located at the Sunset and Vine intersection, walking distance to the Palladium, the ArcLight movie theaters, and the Pantages Theatre. A sliver of a bar, it features stylish decor with subway tiles and black leather booths; no velvet rope, and no cover charge; a good spirits list, plus eclectic beers and wines; and a great-looking, low-key crowd...

Great sliders and beers - everyone in the group had different burgers and all were happy. Not particularly pricey given that it's a fairly reliable celebrity hotspot.

Business description (5)

Named after a colorful section of lower Manhattan, The Bowery, owned and opened by restauranteur and New York-native Joseph Abu-Daoud in 2005, is a cozy bar and American/French bistro in Hollywood. The Bowery, open till 2 a.m., is known for its burgers -- eight ounces of grilled sirloin on a toasted English muffin. Comfort food comprises most of the menu here with crab fritters, gravy fries,...

Parking

After 6pm, metered parking along Sunset and up Argyle is a fairly easy alternative to the valet in front of building. There are also a handful of spots in the small lot in back.

What to Drink

The house specialty cocktail is a "white-cosmo-style martini," but don't overlook the small-but-well-thought-out wine and beer lists.
