I was really disappointed because everyone talks about this place all the time. The entrees are expensive and the restaurant is tiny and cramped. The tableside guacamole was the highlight of the meal. The servers seemed overstretched to give you any attention whatsoever. I really don't know what all the rave reviews were about because I'll never go back.
It's always a "party" at this River Walk spot where "tourists and locals" angle for an outside seat for "mouthwatering" seafood and steaks with Texas touches, "famous" tableside guac and "strong drinks" that "will have you down for the count"; "exceptional people-watching" and "attentive service" seal the deal; P.S. "make reservations."
Boudro's is an exception on the River Walk; its food is notable, the service is professional and the prickly pear margaritas have minimal competition. We can't help but order the tableside guacamole, either, especially if we're seated…

Boudro's enjoys a positive reputation--especially among Riverwalk establishments--and is consistently packed. Inside the limestone building, however, high-volume seating... Pros + outdoor dining
Saw more reviews on here than any other restaurant so we decided to try it as our one and only meal in San Antonio. It did not disappoint. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. We had the shrimp and grits as recommended...
My husband and I stopped here for lunch during our stroll in the River Walk area. We were seated immediately and our waiter was friendly, not only giving us suggestions on the menu, but also suggestions on things to do in the San Antonio area....
We stopped in from the Riverwalk to grab an quick hordoevre and try out their prickly pear margaritas. I had the wild mushrooms and my wife had the shrimp cocktail. The wild mushroom plate was delicious and really was the size of a full meal....
We went late at 9:30 without reservations and lucked out with a riverside table. The food was excellent, our server Michaela was fantastic, and the setting was second to none.
Really nice!!!! I had a Filet with friends. Two bottles of wine. And asked to have a Caymus decanted and they did. Everyone’s meal was quick and hot. If I were going to complain about anything it would be the packed seating and VERY LOUD...
