Bone Lick Park Restaurant Review

This West Village eatery has the look of a diner---chrome trimming around vinyl booths and a long bar---but it's all about one thing: barbecue. The Carolina pulled-pork and the barbecued chicken, smoked out back in the pit, are worth the journey.

With a real wood pit and relatively authentic BBQ (by NYC standards), Bone Lick Park has both a nice dining room and outdoor seating (although you might go deaf from all the ambulances arriving at St. Vincent's hospital across the street). All the usual suspects are featured, from baby back ribs to chopped pork, and the prices are certainly fair. $6.95 lunch specials are an especially good deal.

The West Village gets a taste of barbecue with touches from across the South.

The Scene
The airy room feels welcoming with its pressed tin ceiling, white subway tiles and open seating arrangement of booths and tables. A huge Coca-Cola sign dominates the bar, and...

I visited on a cold Saturday at about 2 pm; prime lunch time for NYC. Place was about 75% full and I was seated at a window table looking out; nice spot.
Servers were polite and prompt. The food arrived in about 10 minutes and the server knew I was going to ask for more BBQ sauce and ketchup; nice...

Bone Lick Park is spitting distance from my apt. I come here after work for a drink and an appetizer from time to time. BBQ shrimp is pretty good. Turkey salad, fried oysters and ribs are all good. BBQ sauce has a melange if Flavors including anise. I am proud that this restaurant has survived over the years when so...

I came here for Trivia night hosted by my meetup group. When I walked in, I noticed it's a very casual atmosphere. The server was very prompt with bringing a menu over, while I was waiting for others from the meetup group to arrive. I ordered the spiked Arnold Palmer- it was very tasty!
For food, I ordered the two...

Great Brunch

We actually came back the next day on our Greenwich Village weekend, we liked it so much. Very well priced for the neighborhood, with hearty servings and free flowing drinks, though there is little BBQ on the brunch menu. We had fish & chips, huevod rancheros, fried chicken, and biscuits & gravy. The fried foods were crisp and fresh tasting,...

Business description (2)

Bone Lick Park was founded in 2004. Bone Lick Park specializes in Retail - Barbecue Restaurant.

Bone Lick Park is one of New York City's best barbecue destinations. Their food is cooked traditional, Southern style in customized hickory logs and a fruit wood burning pit. They use the slow-and-low technique which makes their meat so succulent that it just falls off the bone. They make their own sauce and all their sides are of course, from the South. Their specialties are juicy, yummy, baby...
