In Short Seven-tiered wedding cakes and novelty cartoon pastries catch the eyes of passers by who stroll past this Loop cafe, but the inner sanctum reveals more than just desserts. Loopers who lunch know this place for its Mexican specialties: tamales, taquitos and tortas. Go figure. The owners also operate another bakery in Pilsen.

The food is tasty, however, the service could use much improvement. Recently, my colleagues and I recently visited Bom Bon and ordered food to go. We got back to our office to find that none of our entrees were in our take out bag. We returned to ask for our sandwiches. This is one of the best additions to the downtown lunch scene in a long time. A very clean facility with a great selection of tasty foods and a very helpful staff who were willing to subsitute a couple ingredients to give me a delicious vegetarian lunch. The Agua Frescaa)fresh waters along with the wonderful pastries is reason enough for me to return many times.
