Walk into this popular south side restaurant and you may think that it's just a bakery, with its glass cases devoted to Indian snacks both sweet and savory. Then look on the wall. There you'll see the Bombay Sweets menu, which ranges from spicy snacks to vegetarian combination plates that qualify as a full meal.

hands down the best indian food i've ever had in the states. they feature an all vegetarian menu (if you're vegan, ask about ingredients as some dishes are made with cream). One could easily order 4 entrees and two appetizers for just about $20. There's also a very conviniently located Indian market next door so makre sure to stop by there as well.

Bombay Sweets has the three key elements of a great restaurant: great low prices, great customer service, great tasting food. One time I came in at 3:30 and asked if I could still take advantage of the lunch special. Not only did they say yes, but they also gave me larger portions. I really like this place.

if you want delicious authentic North Indian (Punjabi) food, you should definitely eat at Bombay Sweets. though the decor and ambiance aren't like that of a five star restaurant, the food is not loaded with unnecessary grease (thal) like other Indian restaurants.....and the sweets are unbelievably good.

Pros

+ food, very reasonable prices
