Strongly suggest using another charter company!!! My experience with Blue Pacific was very similar to that of previous reviewers. We had difficulty scheduling the charter, and then when we arrived for checkout, we were told very rudely to come back the next day. This clearly did not fit our cruisng plan as laid out to them well in advance, and we had to fight them to check us out as promised. Our boat was not clean on arrival, and then key systems (electircs, steering) failed during our 2-day charter. Blue Pacific was unapologetic and did not even contact me until I filed a complaint with the BBB. Their neighbors on the dock in Marina Del Rey were not surprised that 1) the Blue Pacific staff was rude, and 2) the boat was unsafe. That should tell you something! I would recommend that no one do busines with these folks. They run an unprofessional and unsafe operation. Susanne (the owner) and Sylvia (the receptionist) are RUDE; Jason (one of their staffers) is completely unreliable. Seriously... take your money somewhere else.
I just arrived on the west coast and wanted to sail to Catalina Island. I found Blue Pacific on the internet and was impressed with how easy it was to find all their boat selections on their website and then proceed to a resume allowing "them" to see my qualifications to sail a boat! I also found all their terms and conditions ... there were no surprises. Making my reservation was then a very simple process and delightful. I enjoyed the french accents in the office! My boat was ready for me and just like the pictures. It all was just a joy making my sail to Catalina a most memorable experience. I recommend Blue Pacific highly!!
I will never do business with this company again. There is something shady going on with this business. Buyer Beware.
I was looking for a present for my father who has been a sailor for his entire life 40 years plus. I thought a bareboat charter would be a nice gift so I called up Blue Pacific Boating after seeing their selection online. I called several times a day for a couple days only to leave messages that were never returned, when one day a woman named Silvia answered the phone. She has a thick accent and speaks very softly. I had a lot of trouble understanding what she was saying. Needless to say I was not able to get any coherent answers from this woman about some technical questions I had. She put me on hold everytime I asked a question about price quotes or rental info. She became agitated when I asked her to repeat herself and she was very rude.
My father called back the next day and spoke with a woman by the name of Susanne. He was going to schedule a pre-check test before renting the boat. We were also looking into membership options for joining. Since I am handling all of the finances for my Father's Birthday gift I tried calling back Susanne to reserve the boat. I thought everything was handled and I had my credit card ready to pay for a boat rental.
Silvia answered the phone and would not transfer me to Susanne. I told her that my father and Susanne had already talked and I was told to call her back. Silvia told me that "she was the one with the answers". She also told me Susanne did not work there and that I could not talk to anyone who had answers to my questions. I explained very nicely about how I wanted to rent a boat. She got very defensive when I asked about a refund policy. She would not show me her refund policy in writing and starting asking me questions about who I was working for? Then she insulted me and hung up the phone.
I will never ever do business with this place. You could not pay me to rent a boat from them. Something very strange is going on and their business practices lead me to believe that they are not on the up and up. No customer service and no refunds sounds like a money scam to me.
Thank you Blue Pacfic for a safe and pleasant sail on May 21, our Skipper was great. He was pleasant with my students and ran the cruise in a safe and professional manner.
the boat was fast, sleek and clean. I was very impressed. This mini sea voyage was my first time out on the ocean in a sail boat and was definitely the high point of my week.
Because of this experience, this desert dweller now has an interest to learn to sail. Thank you for the great cruise.

Last week, I took Blue Pacific’s 5-day Confidence Sailing Course and it changed my life. Initially, I signed up for this particular course for a self-imposed “stay cation” break from the Los Angeles white collar grind.
