Blowfish Sushi To Die For

Sushi in a Zowie Environment

Review Rating
Blowfish is a great and somewhat ironic/hip restaurant. The food is fantastic but the interior is truly unique and artistic. Old 1960's and samurai videos play on TV's on the wall. The decor definitely has to be experienced to be believed. It's on the moderate to expensive side, but for a night out with some sake and friends, this place can't be beat.

With its trendy crowd and nightclub atmosphere, it’s easy to forget you’re at Blowfish Sushi for the food. The suede tufted walls often throb to the beat of blaring dance music; flatscreens situated throughout flash vibrant bursts of Japanese anime. The menu is just as loud (not to mention a tad pricey), with sushi rolls bearing names like Godzilla, Ego and Animal Style. Topping off the lively... more

With its throbbing techno soundtrack, Japanimation fetish and fusion fare, the original Blowfish Sushi to Die For in San Frans Mission District was a scene from day one. The Sunset Strip Blowfish isnt as funky as the original, but more sleek and, well, LA. Flat-screen TVs pump Japanese animation into every nook and cranny of the two main dining rooms at the end of the billboard-choked Sunset... more

Expect to be asked for your reservation by entering this stylish sushi joint. We were lucky and got seated promptly though. The sushi paradise offers a wide menu of diverse sushi creations, salads, desserts, beer, Saki and more elaborate fish meals. The spicy California Roll is really to die for and I have never seen so impeccable arranged rolls like this before. Salmon rolls were tiny but... more
