In Short Blackstone draws a diverse crowd, from families to the financial set, but it's really a haven for beer connoisseurs. A handful of TVs provide action on game days, and those seeking a quiet respite can relax in overstuffed chairs by the fireplace in an alcove just off the bar. Award-winning Nut Brown Ale is one of the most popular brews and a full-service menu includes... more

It’s not the food that brings people here; it’s the roomy interior, cozy bar and lounge, and outstanding beer. The burger is actually very good, and so is the crisp-crusted pizza (try the version made with pesto instead of red sauce). The hot, soft pretzels with a trio of gourmet mustards are the perfect accompaniment to the brew. But the salads are dreary and nearly every other dish is... more

Nashville's most upscale brew pub draws a lot of business travelers who are staying in nearby hotels. Elegantly inviting are the cushioned chairs, fireplace and a long, marbled bar. The food, including wood-fired pizzas and pretzels, is consistently good. But the beer is the main focus. Choose from a variety of brews including several that change with the seasons. There's also a six-pack sampler.

I have to own up that even though I'm a regular, I've never moved past the bar area -- there's just been no need! There's always plenty of seating, whether I want to eat at a table, have drinks with friends, or sidle up to the bar. The beer is consistently good -- the nut brown is the best -- and they have an assortment of good salads and sandwiches. My one complaint is that they limit their... more
