Editorial reviews from the web (4)

This “nicely decorated” Eagle Rocker still bears the ski-lodge stylings of its previous incarnation as the Chalet (i.e. wood paneling, stone walls, fireplace), which works fine for the current English pub theme that includes an “unexpectedly good beer list” – with plenty of Blighty brews like Old Speckled Hen – and football matches on the telly; throw in “awesome” bartenders, and some locals...

Citysearch Editorial Review

Formerly a place to grab a martini, this Eagle Rock bar has transformed into a laidback neighborhood pub where tattooed motorcycle riders and T-shirt clad patrons can snap up an ice-cold brew. The...

A delightful place with moody lighting and good drinks. An unpredictable crowd (could be hipsters, could be 20th anniversary celebrants), but always laid back. Gather round the fireplace and cuddle up with a vodka. Maybe meet someone nice and polite. To share the cuddles and vodkas. It’s all leather ottomans and wood and paintings of ducks. Lumberjack romance.

Great bar. Fireplace, juke box, foosball and darts (steel tip with a cork board). Cute smoker friendly patio in back. Tons of eclectic beer choices. Overall a fun place to chat with a friend over a cocktail or to indulge in debochery with a group of friends.

I have to admit that they have a great (overpriced) whiskey/bourbon menu but the service is really shity. I had to ask three times for a pen with ink to sign my tab. Bodyguard is a real jerk.

Parking: There's no valet or paid lot, but street parking is available on Colorado and in the surrounding neighborhood. Some people take their chances in the Tritch Hardware lot just east of the club.

Know Before You Go: Go early because all entry is on a first come first served basis.

The Extras: If you have to work your way south back to downtown or Silver Lake, stop off at gothic-chic Little Cave bar in Highland Park (5922 N Figueroa) for techno-beats.
