Bird Paradise

Kathie Hahn

kathie Hahn and Bird Paradise do sue their customers. When customers birds die or get sick they make excuses and threaten law suits then carry it out. They even take the bird back and claim they send them all the way back to "the breeder" (their Florida bird mill according to bird hell dot com) in SICK condition. Yeah right. Steer clear from this place. Their erratic and combative behavior is disgusting. Any "niceness" you see is phony in my opinon. Just wait till they decide to attack you.

Bird Paradise sues its customers and competitors. Kathie Hahn slanders and harasses people. Kathie Hahn interferes with competitors legal rights to conduct business. Bird Paradise filed nuisance suit attempting to settle for cash. Bird Paradise refused to cooperate with discovery and had to be compelled by the judge to answer questions and show vet records. They dismissed it when no payday came about and even their lawyer Deborah Plaia even stopped defending them after seeing the slanderous website "anonymously" put up against their Defendants. PATHETIC....

Amazing Store!

This is the best bird store around. HUGE selection of toys, playstands, cages, food, and more. I prefer to get birds from a small breeder and not a pet store, but the birds at this store are well cared for. They had many finches and other small untame birds housed in large flight cages, and the parrots and other tame birds come out onto playgyms. They had appropriate toys, perches, and diets.
They really try to educate prospective owners and not just sell them birds. They sometimes have parrot trainers and behaviorists come and do lectures and this is free to everyone, not just customers. You would pay $50 or more to hear some of these speakers at a seminar!
The store seems to have become a bit of a target for some animal rights extremists who don't believe in keeping pets (keeping birds as pets isn't cruel if you take decent care of them and treat them as one of the family. It's not perfect but nothing is - like in the wild where with starvation and predators, annual mortality is 30-50% on average. And most parrots kept as pets are of domsticated species like budgies, lovebirds, cockatiels, not 'wild' birds). I guess they targeted this store just because it is large? There certainly are plenty of stores that don't take great care of their birds, but this is one of the best ones and their selection of bird supplies at good prices makes it very worth shopping at even though I'm not looking to get another bird.
