A tiny jewel box of a restaurant set amidst the casual dining squalor of Santa Monica Blvd. Raw bar with fresh oysters and ceviche. Great skirt steak with fries cooked in duck fat. Great bartenders. Order the cookie plate for dessert. The menu changes seasonally. Consult the owner for wine - he can turn you on to some cool choices. Superb service! It's a welcoming place with no attitude.

Amazing Wine Bar
Bin 8945 is an unassuming gem of a restaurant tucked into a corner of Santa Monica Boulevard between a Starbucks and a a pizza joint. One step inside, though, and you are in a ritzy and cozy wine bar, oyster bar and gourmet restaurant. Bin 8945 is definitely a place where you reward yourself because each meal is incredible. The staff is knowledgeable about their formidable wine list...without 'tude. If you ever see one of their seasonal tasting menus and wine flights are available DEFINITELY go for it! Oysters are fresh and a variety of seasonal vegetables and meals are available. They also have good ceviche, too. Prices are expensive, but you are definitely getting what you pay for. Save room for dessert, because they are extraordinarily good. There is valet parking in the back of the restaurant but very little street parking. Reservations are definitely necessary Th - Sun ; it's closed on Mondays. Bin 8945 occasionally does private parties if you want to rent it out for an evening.

This restaurant has a weekly menu featuring oysters, sushi, duck, chicken and vegetables. This evidently gives Chef Matt Carpeter a chance to experiment and an opportunity for you to try new dishes whenever you head here. With over 450 wines, and some interesting cocktails, you might want to celebrate all your parties here. There is, however, an option to bring your own alcohol for a fee....

The gravitational force of this just-right wine bar and bistro pulls those professionals in alongside food-world regulars whove traveled from all over the city. Chef Matt Carpenter departed in early 2007, and with him went the Caribbean- and North African-influenced menu...
