A cool, dark stop on a hot Memphis day, this place is a regular East Memphis haunt. During the Great Depression, turnip green sandwiches were sold at this location, but the fare has improved greatly since then. The burgers are a cut above the usual, and the aroma of chargrilled burgers fills the air. This place is also known for sandwiches, such as the catfish steak and the po' boy. Follow up...

A great neighborhood bar, Belmont is a popular watering hole for where locals like to stop by after work to unwind. As plain as a rundown roadhouse, it's unpretentious and casual. The eatery some might call a "greasy spoon" also happens to serve terrific pub grub. Try the cheeseburgers or go for the catfish po'boys.
Other Reviews from the web
The Belmont is a good place for a casual dinner.
The food is pretty cheap and comes out quickly. I think the best thing on the menu for sure is their burgers.
No need for reservations. Just come. Open late.
I usually order lunch TO GO from there at least once a week! (that's not counting the numerous times I eat there on weekends, and/or dinner)The club sandwich w/honey mustard on the side. I love thier loaded baked potatoes too!!
Pros
+ great food!!
Cons
- parking not so easy to get in & out or not enough at second location

My family loves Belmont Grill. They have the best Prime Rib sandwich-it's never on the menu-but always on the Specials board. The hamburger is also a favorite there. This is a Memphis top ten restaurant for sure!
Pros
+ Food, Service
Cons
- Can be smokey, Small
