Closest thing to a neighborhood pub, immortalized by artist, Ed Kienholz, rock and roll pool hall, hang out, etc. Drink beer where Jim Morrison shot pool. Extensive menu of burgers and bar food. Lots of imported beer on tap. This is a fun place to watch sporting events.

The Scene What was once a ratty neighborhood dive frequented by beats, hippies and Jim Morrison is now a ratty neighborhood dive full of sports fans from UCLA. The cavernous interior hides many cozy nooks from which to watch the game. The infamous anti-gay policy was done away with a long time ago, but for a bar in the middle of Boys Town, you'll find a pretty straight crowd. Expect friendly ... more

The Beanery in West Hollywood is a bit of a walk from my workplace but well worth it. They have nearly unlimited choices on the menu, enough so that I could find healthy choices when in the mood. Service is good too, and the beer selection is awesome. During the day, it's pretty easy to get a table. I imagine that's different at night, but I've never been so won't speak to it. The food is prepared ... more

Barney's Beanery is a great place to watch a game, grab a beer, and get some good food. Look this isn't some gourmet restaurant. If you are expecting that, you're a moron. But for a casual, sports bar type restaurant, Barney's Beanery is great.
I ordered the Empire State Triple Decker sandwich with onion rings, $10.95. The Empire
