Homemade Italian sausage, specialty cuts, and the finest imported foods including Italian cheeses, prosciutios, and salamis, make Bari your Full Service Butcher. Business Description from the Web
A grocery and deli (takeout only) on that stretch between Ashland and the Kennedy where West Grand suddenly goes Italian, Bari Foods makes a mean sandwich. On the abbreviated menu are subs stuffed with corned beef, roast beef, Italian sausage, or Italian deli meats, but a favorite is the fresh mozzarella and prosciutto sub. Available at 9 or 12 inches, the sandwich packs ultrathin slices of...

There's an extensive, well-priced selection of olive oil, pasta, sauces, and other Italian and Mediterranean imports. In dairy, grocery, and sundries they cover all the bases, though the selection is cramped by space limitations. The deli does a thriving sub trade, employing a small army of sandwich-makers at lunchtime; imported sausage, cheeses, and olives round out the deli case. The...

Tips About This Business
You can't go wrong with the Italian sub, made with imported meats and cheeses and dressed with homemade spicy giardiniera. Waltz past long lunchtime lines at the deli counter by calling ahead with your order.
The guys at the butcher counter really know their stuff, and are happy to prepare large or unusual cuts to order. Around holidays, you should allow several days when ordering big roasts.
Hungry? Try the "Family Recipe Meatball Sandwich."

There is ALWAYS a line in there, but the service is excellent and fast. It is definately worth the wait. If you are in a hurry, call and order ahead. About 2 months ago, I bought a prime rib roast from the...

I am lucky enough to live across the street from Bari. That explains why I eat it on average of three times a week. I love their Italian subs, but I also like getting the meat from their butcher shop. The bread is from D'Amato's Bakery located right next door. The guys behind the counter are experts at making the sandwiches and butchering your favorite cuts of meat. The hot giardinara is...

The subs are great and made right in front of you. The bread, meat, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes are always fresh. My favorite is the italian followed closely by the corned beef sub.
Pros
+ Great sandwiches
