Datebook Diner: Thai cuisine returns to East Village

When Ban Thai shuttered last year, something seemed amiss in our restaurant landscape. The East Village without a Thai restaurant? It just wasn’t right. Before Ban Thai, Taste of Thailand was a 23-year mainstay on East Walnut (long before anyone even started calling the now-hip area the East Village).

Great service and food

I ate at Ban Thai last night for dinner with a friend. She has been there before and loves it, and this was my first time. We started with the spring rolls. They weren’t quite what I had expected after eating them at other Thai restaurants. They were cut into smaller pieces with the sauce drizzled over them, and they were delicious! I ordered the Pad Thai, mostly because I just couldn’t decide...

I have eaten at Ban Thai twice and thoroughly enjoyed the experiences.
