Cafe Mogador NYC Moroccan & Mediterranean Cuisine
Considered a pioneer of Moroccan restaurants in NYC, Café Mogador is a delectable haven at any time of the year. In fact, as the bitter cold sets the tone for a cozy sitting in the restaurant's warm candlelight atmosphere, the spring allows a refreshing meal on the terrace from which the cosmopolitan East Village scenery can be appreciated. Opened in 1983, Café Mogador is a family owned and...
Popular with the "tattooed, leathered" set, this "go-to" East Village Moroccan and its newer garden-equipped Williamsburg sibling "have it down to a science", providing "memorable" tagines for "super-affordable" dough; to avoid "long waits" for the "delicious" brunch, go for "early dinner."
Moroccan and Mediterranean cooking on St. Marks Place.
Lots of Mogador's clientele laze away the day here. It's easy. The staff is friendly and the food from breakfast to dinner is cheap and good. What you get are Moroccan dishes made of fresh seasonal ingredients: spicy carrots, Greek salad and apricot/prune chicken tagine. The wine list is average.
Sludgy Turkish coffee opens the bleary eyes of the breakfast-at-noon crowd. Couscous, hummus, cucumber yogurt, and other Mediterranean faves served up in slightly grungy brick-walled space. Removed from St. Marks cheap tattoo and roving pseudo-homeless kid chaos. Outdoor patio attracts neighborhood cuties, people-judgers, and "novel writing. " Get a cheap glass of wine and hang. Phenomenal...

As a big fan of both Mediterranean and Moroccan cuisine, Cafe Mogador in East Village really hit the spot. The food here is just awesome, and caters to a variety of preferences for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Decent food prices (you are in Manhattan, after all) and good portions make it worth the visit.
Had a cuscus with lamb. Not bad, but vegetables were a bit hard for my taste. Nice ambiance, good service. I would definitely recommend this place.
Brilliant place with amazing food. Tried the Lamb Shank - it was awesome. The staff was courteous, the service fast and the ambience perfect for a nice dinner. Would recommend a reservation though. Will definitely, definitely visit again when in NYC.
Delicious brunch. Moroccan menu. Relaxed atmosphere. I always note the excellent music. Homemade hot sauce.
Overpriced normal food. Nothing special neither with food nor atmosphere (but maybe you could see someone "famous" if you are into that). Trendy and touristy... Service very poor unfortunately

Cafe Mogador provides and authentic feeling Moroccan brunch in two locations (Williamsburg, Brooklyn and East Village, Manhattan). Hardwood floors, painted brick walls and subtle lighting lend it a feeling of European expatriate in morocco that perfectly combines with the exotic smells and tastes of their brunch menu to create a unique brunch experience. They even serve coffee in ornate silver...
