Walking in the door of the Back 40 Junction is like stepping back in time. The main dining room holds a priceless Tiffany chandelier. Fascinating artifacts decorate the walls and ceilings, including whaler's lamps, authentic Burma Shave highway signs and oil lamps once owned by Carol Lombard. You'll see the area's largest collection of sculptures by John Rogers, dating from the mid-1800s....

Great food. Great atmosphere. Allie was our waitress and she was very friendly. I love looking at the place mats with an explanation for all the history and artwork.

Excellent restaurant! I highly recommend this as a place to have dinner, great food wonderful service Karen provide exceptional service and was very personable. If your in the area you must stop in for a meal.

The best restaurant in Decatur

Absolutely my favorite "special" restaurant to visit. It is a little pricey, but the food, atmosphere, and service are worth it. This is truly a gem in our city and I highly recommend any visitors to Decatur to stop here and enjoy a hearty meal - you won't leave the Back 40 hungry!

Great price for the variety and unlimited amount of food. You can save money by skipping the meat buffet. The soup, salad and bread bar are my favorites. If you like prime rib, though, you will want the full buffet.

We stopped at this place after a friends recommendation. The food is all homeade and tasted wonderful. I wish it where closer to our home, I'd visit more often, I understand they also cater, would love to have them cater an affair.
