rude RUDE service

I ordered "spicy chicken soup" which came totally bland - not spicy, not even salty. When I asked them to take it back to the kitchen to season it, the waiter, and then the manager started arguing with me, telling me the kitchen was too busy. Who is doing whom a favor?

In Short A unique aesthetic embracing organic and industrial themes, polished concrete floors, an open kitchen and stark white walls. The crowd is hip, artsy, Westside liberals who pour in after gallery hopping. The California cuisine is organic, fresh and artful. Start with appetizers like flatbread and spread (with hommous, cucumber radish and herb salad) and soy braised beef shortribs ... more

A nice place with great service that serves local farm-direct and organic foods. Most of the healthy or organic places you go to feature slow service or an icky dining room. But not Axe.This place is great. An interesting menu with some good variety a really nice wine list in a very fun environment.Be sure to make reservations. This place fills up fast.

What a bummer! This was my local jaunt & I used to enjoy going here weekly but no more. The food has gone down hill..think mediocre & very salty. But worse the service is unbearable. The wait staff are miserable, slow & have a lousy attitude. It's just not worth it!

Tasty, healthy, locally grown organic food.

I love it.
The cusines is healthy and "good-for-you" without crossing over into the world of "I can't believe it's not chicken!" The ricebowls at lunch are a favorite, the ribeye or burger and all of the market fresh veggies are a dinner favorite. Expensive wine list. Great beer selection. Fantastic desserts.
Sure - it can get loud, it can get hot, it can be crowded. But the food is worth ... more
