My 4 year old attended Avery Montessori Academy since its opening day and was there for 4 months. The primary reason for finally withdrawing our son was due to the lack of professionalism and common sense judgment exhibited by the owner, Elaine. During the first month, our son’s teacher quit due to a disagreement in teaching methods with Elaine. The 2nd teacher also resigned at the end of December. While we were there, Elaine violated an agreement regarding publishing photos of our child. She also shared with us info of other families’ situations such as kids whose parents were going through a divorce, kids whose parents were unable to make tuition payments, and an autistic child who did not thrive in the environment. She even commented to us regarding one of her employee’s “many health issues” and another's "weird religious beliefs". There were delayed communications such as days to respond to emails, and a morning voice mail I left due to no answer was not even retrieved in the same day. In addition, there are many simple inconveniences, such as no computerized entry or sign-in system. The door is locked when you arrive, and the doorbell consistently does not work, even causing the business to miss a payroll. Overall, just a sloppy, unprofessional operation.
