On a trip to East Peoria, Illinois yesterday we stopped for lunch at Avanti's for lunch. None of us had ever been here before so we didn't quite know what to expect. I can now say that we were pleasantly surprised and pleased. My son had the Lasagna, I had the Beef Ravioli, and my wife had the Gondola sandwich....

Great Place for Small Groups

Avanti's has two rooms for small group parties. Nice and secluded, apart from the regular dining rooms. Waitresses were very accommodating of the group and kept up with the orders and drink refills. Food is basic Italian, nothing special.

This is some of the worst food I have ever had at a restaurant. My best guess is that the kitchen is equipped only with a can opener and an infinite number of cases of Chef Boyardee. This food was accompanied by bread that was baked to look like Italian bread but was closer in texture to wonder bread with...

I absolutely love the bread!! It reminds me of Kings Hawaiian Bread but, much better. Great value, great food and atmosphere.
