Autumn Leaves is a great independent used book store. You can always find lots of bargains an unexpected deals. Located on the Commons, it's not a big box book store. Many books tend to be scholarly, at the college or grad school level. There is also a lot of poetry, foreign and local NY history here. Don't expect to find Oprah and Daniel Steel books until they are past the expiration date. There is a comfy coffee shop upstairs with WIFI if you want to relax for a bit when you are done shopping.

Downstairs is a great selection of used books including a section on local Finger Lakes regional history. Upstairs is a friendly cafe with baked goods, tea, coffee and free wi-fi.

I LOVE this bookshop. I have spent countless hours here just looking around for that perfect read. They have everything here, from rare, first edition and signed copies to academic course-related books, to popular fiction. They also have maps and old magazine clippings/print ads for sale. This is a used book store which I think is absolutely amazing. There are two floors to the store and the upper floor contains a coffee shop. Probably Ithaca's best know used book store. Not the largest selction by any means, but big enough to be worth a browse. That is, if you live here. In other words, if you're local, they're fine -- if you're not, and just visiting the area, spend your time elsewhere (even if a bibliophile).
