Business Description from the Web
Expect hip décor and great food at this restaurant, which serves up tasty Caribbean and Southwestern dishes. Sit at the bar and have one of the many flavors of martinis. The best seats, though, are by the window (with a view of the Peabody ) and on the mezzanine. As for the food, the Voodoo Stew is a standout, with big chunks of seafood in a lusty sauce. Other specialties include the Coyote...

Automatic Slims is an upscale facility that offers guests French food known for their seafood and steaks. Expect the average entrée to cost from $20 to $30, and you`ll be appropriate if dressed casual, but fashionable.
Editorial Reviews from the web
The Scene Automatic Slim's is simply the coolest place to see and be seen in Memphis--even El-Vez, the Mexican Elvis impersonator, makes regular appearances at this trendy eatery. Some of Hollywood's finest have stopped by, like Susan Sarandon, Tom Cruise and Francis Ford Coppola. It's ecclectic, for sure: Slim's is known for bar sports stools covered in faux-zebra skins and vats...

In all of its years in downtown, this Memphis classic has never lost its groove. It is a funky tumbleweed-meets-tropical restaurant whose liveliness extends to lighting fixtures, banquettes, bar stools and tiles designed by local craftsman. That sort of individuality applies to the food, too, which can sometimes be first-rate and sometimes so busy that you need a map to sort out the clutter....

With hip decor, a great menu, and live music on Friday nights, Automatic Slim's Tonga Club attracts the arty and upscale thirty- and fortysomething crowd. Yummy martinis made with fruit-soaked vodka are a bar specialty.

The food was completley terrible. 4 out of 5 dishes were very cold. One member ordered the Tuna seared rare it came out well done, when they brought her a new one is was just raw. and the chef poured way to much sauce to cover it up. obviously a ticked off move. The rest of us where just hungary cause we waited so long so I ate my cold gross tenderloin. They did take two entrees off but no...

We have been to Automatic Slim's three or four times. The first time we were very impressed with the food and the service was reasonable. Our most recent visit will most definitely be the last. The service was the worse I have ever experienced. There were two members of the waitstaff, one male and one female, both of whom served us, but they were extremely busy and the restaurant was...

Automatic Slims is a wild alternative to dining in Memphis. The menu is very creative, blending global recipes and southern tradition. My favorite is the Jamaican jerk duck.
The drinks here are also very fruity and fun.
The price can be a bit high, but it's worth the amazing food and beautifully intriguing interior. Absolutely love this place.
