Good food, great people!

They have the most unusual sandwiches and salads I've ever eaten in a cafe. Cuban beef, a hot beef sandwich made on a sandwich press with some kind of tomato chile sauce -- excellent! They have a rice noodle salad with a balsamic vinagrette, toasted cashews and toasted sage! Their potato salad mad with russet potatoes and bleu cheese bleu me away! Friendly staff, trendy crowd. They also have live bluegrass music on Thursday nights.

One of only a few places still offering free wifi (get your password from the counter when you purchase), they also have GREAT food (pizza!) and Stumptown Coffee. And if the wine isn't all that great, there's still the covered patio for sipping great tap beer in the Mission sunshine.

Atlas Cafe Restaurant Review

Down in the low-valley of the eastern Mission, live-work artists, lucky telecommuters and young local moms with high hipster credentials and babies in tow fill up this light and airy room and its adjacent sun-flooded patio. Neighborhood boundaries in San Francisco can be a little confusing at times, I'll lay blame on realtors trying to sell outlier places in some "less desirable hoods" as they say. Also can be confusing when doing a walkabout round town like I am want to do. Edges keep changing it seems and sometimes I'm not sure exactly where I'm out. Such was the case when I came across Atlas Cafe in an area I...

Nice little spot in a quieter part of the Mission, serving decent sandwiches, soups, salad, and your standard café fare. Great outdoor patio as well! Perfect for a lunch or light dinner.

When to Go: The last Thursday of every month is a bluegrass and old-time music jam session. All acoustic-string-band musicians are welcome to join in the performances.
